    Year 8 Football

On Wednesday 25th September students in Year 8 played their first match of the season where they played against Guru Nanek. They did extremely well and won their first game of the season 6 - 2. Our talented students could have easily scored a lot more however, it was their first time playing an 11 a-side match. Student A had scored a hattrick, and remains our top scorer since last year! Student B scored on his debut along with Student C who also scored on his debut as well as assisted with 2 goals. Student D was incredible in the middle of the pitch, winning duals and running box to box, he even managed to get a goal in himself! Student A was our ‘Man of the Match’ with his 3 goals and incredible enthusiasm to press well. Overall, all students had a very successful first game and we are looking forward to more victories this year. Well done Year 8!

  • Paris Trip

    Published 05/07/24

On Tuesday 25th June, 38 students from Rosedale College went on an unforgettable 4-day trip to Paris. On the first day, after arriving at the hotel, students were taken to a French restaurant to sample the local cuisine. The following day was a sightseeing day, visiting the 210 metre Montparnasse tower for the best views of Paris, Sacré Cœur Basilica and Montmartre, before walking down to Notre Dame and going to another fine dining experience in the heart of Paris. On Thursday the students went to Parc Astérix, which they had learnt about in French lessons at school. There were rides galore and the students had a great time practising their French skills in the restaurant and the gift shop. On the final day, before saying “Au revoir” to Paris, and getting the ferry home, there was a Bateaux-Mouches boat cruise down the river Seine, seeing all the sights from the boat, which allowed the students to take loads of photos and make even more memories.

  • School Book Fair

    Published 21/06/24

Rosedale College recently hosted its first, much-anticipated Scholastic Book Fair, transforming the library into a vibrant hub of literary excitement. Students and teachers were immersed in a world of books, celebrating the joy of reading and the adventure that comes with each page turned, as all Key Stage 3 students got to visit at least twice during their English lessons. The fair featured a wide array of books catering to all ages and interests. From graphic novels to thrilling teen-fiction novels and some of the classics from the literary canon, there was something for everyone. The selection also included educational resources, engaging non-fiction titles, and popular series that kept readers coming back for more. The Book Fair wasn’t just about selling books; it was about creating a community of readers. Proceeds from the fair go towards purchasing new books for the school library, ensuring that our students continue to have access to diverse and exciting reading materials. A big thank you to the English Alliance and Mrs Theepan in making this event a success. The Scholastic Book Fair will be back in the autumn, hopefully inspiring a love of reading in our students that will last a lifetime.

  • A Night at the Movies

    Published 03/05/24

Rosedale College hosted the annual Evening of Dance, which this year was dedicated to ‘A Night at the Movies’. Students danced the night away to iconic songs such as the theme tune from the Mission Impossible franchise, and Aretha Franklin’s RESPECT. They grooved to Gloria Gaynor’s I will survive and thrilled the audience with repertoire from Michael Jackson’s Thriller. The evening began with sampling delicious delights from Miss Montague and the wonderful Cafe Elite. BTEC Performing Arts students from both colleges have spent the entire Spring term learning the choreography created by their teachers, and this dance platform gave the students from across the Trust an opportunity to perform to a full house. The dancers nervously waited in the wings as the theatre filled up and the lights dimmed, however, their worries proved unfounded as they danced to perfection and the audience support was deafening. Parents were so proud of their children that even tears of joy were shed, Well done to all our BTEC Performing Arts students.

  • Belguim Trip

    Published 21/04/24

On Friday 22nd March, 14 excited Key Stage 3 students were gathered at the college at 5:30am for the start of a long, exciting journey to Belgium and back. Taking the Eurotunnel to Calais then on to Belgium, the first stop was the impressive Passchendaele Memorial Museum, which has uniforms, weapons, artillery and memorabilia all with an audio guide, before going down into the living quarters and trenches from the famous battle which took place there. After the museum, the students were taken to the picture-postcard pretty town of Ypres, for lunch and, of course, a trip to one of the famous Belgian chocolate shops. Once we returned to the minibus, the next stop was the Cite Europe shopping centre in Calais for the students to practise their French, before taking the Eurotunnel back. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and made some long-lasting memories of Belgium.
