On Tuesday 24th June, 32 students from Rosedale College went on an unforgettable four day trip to Paris. On the first day, en route to the hotel, students were taken to a French restaurant to sample the local cuisine. The following day was a sightseeing day, visiting Montmartre, offering the students a chance to see the magnificent basilica of Sacré Coeur along with a breathtaking view over Paris from the summit of the hill.
On Thursday 19th June 2025, our Year 8 students had an exciting day out to The Big Bang Fair held at the NEC Birmingham. The event, known for its vibrant celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), provided an inspiring and fun experience for all who attended. Students eagerly explored a wide range of interactive exhibits, live demonstrations and hands-on workshops. From robotics to chemistry experiments, the fair sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among the young learners. Students were fully engaged throughout the day, asking questions, trying new activities, and showing great enthusiasm. Many described the visit as a highlight of the college year. The Big Bang Fair at NEC Birmingham continues to be a key event encouraging young people to consider careers in STEM fields, making learning fun and accessible outside the classroom. Overall, it was a day well spent and we look forward to next year.
On Thursday 3rd April, Year 8 students were taken to Amersham field centre as part of their Geography learning. During the trip students took part in a range of hands-on

thermometers, anemometers, a rain gauge and barometers to measure temperature, wind speed, rainfall and air pressure.
On Tuesday 25th March 2025, the Key Stage 4 Music option students from both Rosedale College and Hewens College went on an educational trip to the Royal College of Music on Prince Consort Road. The students were excited about the trip from the very conception and so they arrived at college early and eager to make the journey. The journey was fun and filled with excitement as the students got to see different landmarks as they travelled.
On Sunday 16th March, 13 Year 9 and 10 students were chosen to represent Rosedale College as the ball assistants for the Carabao Cup Final between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium. They were an integral part of the game as their role was to ensure the footballs were in the right place for the players. All students were exceptional and had a day they will never forget. From seeing some of the best players in the world play, and legends of football now in the media, to being pitch side during a historic victory for Newcastle, they represented the College brilliantly and it was a wonderful day.
On Thursday 6th March it was our last game of the season for our Year 8 Boys against Douay Martyrs. We started the game extremely well going 2-0 within the first 20 minutes. However, Douay Martyrs are a very good team and they came back to 2-2 at the end of the first half. In the second half, again we started really strong and scored 2 more goals and one of our players got a hat trick. Leading 4-2 towards the end of the second half and again Douay Martyrs came back to 4-4 and the match ended. Compared to last season, the boys have played really well, managing 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. They should be very proud of the improvement they have made this season. Well done!
From 17th to 23rd January, the UK celebrated Big Energy Saving Week. Rosedale College made a significant contribution during the week, as well as using it as an opportunity to highlight their passion for the environment. The students of the Eco Club organised a Year 7 challenge in which all the students in that year group collected points daily to determine which class was the most environmentally friendly. At the end of the week, Class 7P earned the highest number of points and was recognised as the class that saved the most energy. They received a certificate and a goody bag, which was presented to their form tutor. Our students continue to make great strides in their environmental awareness
On 23rd January, 38 students from Rosedale College were taken on an unforgettable trip to London’s West End to see the best show in town – Les Misérables. Despite the heavy rain, we arrived at the magnificent Sondheim Theatre with time to spare. The students were very excited and once the performance started, they sat in hushed awe and enjoyed the spectacle before them. Every single one of them thoroughly enjoyed the show and they spent the journey home talking about what they had seen and what their favourite part was. For many it was their first experience in a West-End theatre, but judging by their smiles, it will not be their last.
On Thursday 12th December 2024, thirty excited Year 7 and 8 students and three even more-excited teachers headed off to the We& Encl to experience the phenomenal Back to the Future musical in a pre-Christmas treat organised by the English Alliance.
