Year 11 GCSE Geography Field Trip

On Friday 9th October, Year 11 Geography students took part in their urban fieldwork investigation in Stratford, applying key geographical skills outside the classroom.

Throughout the day, students explored different areas of Stratford to investigate the opportunities and challenges experienced within the urban environment. Working in small groups, they collected a range of primary data through observations, questionnaires, interviews and tally surveys, allowing them to gather first-hand evidence for their GCSE studies.

The fieldwork required students to think critically about issues such as environmental quality, land use, regeneration and the impact of urban development.

Students demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and independence as they navigated different locations and completed their data collection tasks.

The data collected will now be analysed in lessons and used to prepare students for the fieldwork components of their GCSE Geography examinations. The trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to experience geography in action and develop the practical skills needed for success in their studies.

We would like to congratulate all students involved for their positive attitude, maturity and commitment throughout the visit. They were a real credit to the college.
