A Trip with a Big Bang!
Years 8 and 9 at Rosedale College discover all the wonderful attractions on offer at The Big Bang Fair!
After two long years of lockdown, The Big Bang Fair is back and students in Years 8 and 9 at Rosedale College had the chance to go and discover all the wonderful attractions on offer, relating to STEM subjects, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students were able to experience and engage with a host of exciting, interactive activities which had been designed specifically with 11 to 14 year olds in mind, to provide the best careers inspiration, advice and opportunities to meet with real scientists and engineers. Future young inventors and experimenters, future game-changers and lifesavers were given the opportunity to develop and shine in The Big Bang Competition and experience Big Bang Digital showcases, illustrating surprising ways to build a brighter, greener world.
Activities included virtual and augmented reality tours, coding, robotics, simulators and drone flying and a wealth of other exciting experiences. Students were engaged from the moment they entered the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and were very positive about the many experiences in which they actively took part. It was certainly an engaging, exciting and informative experience for them all. Gurdeep, was lucky enough to be one of only two students amongst the many thousands at the fair to win his own drone. Well done Gurdeep!
We certainly can’t wait to take students again next year and help to shape the new industry and business leaders of the future whilst maintaining a world-wide admiration for the UK’s leading role in Science and Technology.
