Trip to the Home of Cricket

Rosedale College students took to Lord’s Cricket Ground for the day

On Thursday 12th May, 46 Rosedale College students took to Lord’s Cricket Ground for the day. Students travelled by coach to the ground to watch Middlesex CCC play Nottingham CCC in the Specsavers County Championship.

Staff and students arrived at the ground just after 10:00am where they were shown to their seats and enjoyed watching the start of play in the morning sunshine. Nottinghamshire batted first and the team contained England internationals Haseeb Hameed, Ben Duckett and Stuart Broad. Hameed and Duckett batted well considering the excellent bowling by Middlesex and ex-England bowler Toby Roland-Jones.

Students were also able to enjoy activities around the ground including a visit to the Lord’s Museum, playing cricket in the Academy indoor nets, taking selfies with the players as well as getting some autographs. It was a brilliant day enjoyed by all and we are looking forward to our next cricket trip, as well as our upcoming cricket fixtures.

A reminder that Year 7 and 8 cricket club for boys and girls is on a Monday afternoon while Year 9 and 10 cricket club for boys and girls is on a Thursday afternoon.
