Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience 20/12/21

On Thursday 9th December, Year 11 Art students were fortunate enough to venture out on a trip to see the amazing exhibition - Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience in London.

As part of their BTEC course in Art, students are expected to develop their creativity and broaden their knowledge about all the different aspects of Art – from Classic Art to Modern Art. Visiting the exhibition allowed our students to explore Van Gogh’s life, work, and his secrets as never before, through cutting-edge, 360 degree digital projections. The exhibition helped students to understand and deepen their research about Van Gogh, not only as a great Master but also as a human being.

The one-of-a-kind virtual reality (VR) experience, and a uniquely atmospheric light and sound show, helped students to understand Van Gogh’s technique and how important his work was and still is in modern times; it showed students how they can apply these specific techniques to their own art work.

The feedback from our students from the trip has been wonderful;

“From this visit to the Van Gogh Exhibition, I have learnt that there is a greater meaning towards the world of Art. I have really enjoyed it.”

“The Van Gogh Exhibition was a good representation of Impressionist Art. All the Exhibition, in my opinion, especially the projection room and Pop Out Exhibition were really beautiful and inspirational”.
