Junior Mathematical Online Challenge 6/07/20
Recent government announcements made it clear that the Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC) cannot take place in the school premises as it normally would this academic year. We at Rosedale are very perceptive that students still have the chance to experience the JMC so we can inspire a love of problem solving. Students therefore took the JMC 2020 online challenge on Friday 26th June, for the first time ever in Rosedale history! Ninety Key Stage 3 students were entered for the competition and the students took the challenge remotely from their homes at 10:00am. This was quite an experience for teachers and students alike. Thank you to all the staff in the Mathematics Alliance who helped in running the challenge smoothly. It was quite a buzz to see a new class being created on Teams called the ‘Junior Challenge Team’, with students discussing the challenge after having done the practice a week prior. We are proud of all the students who took part in the challenge, and are eagerly awaiting the results. Good luck to all our keen participants!
