Electricity at Work 18/10/19
The Science Alliance at Rosedale College hosted a Masterclass for Rosedale Primary pupils in Year 5 and 6. The theme of the workshop was entitled ‘Electricity at Work’, and it was run over two days on Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th October. All pupils carried out a series of activities based on the construction Series and Parallel Circuits. The activities served to enhance the pupils’ understanding of topics studied in Key Stage 2 Science. All pupils were given the opportunity of working in four of our state of the art laboratories at Rosedale College. The Masterclass allowed the pupils to work scientifically by completing various activities, which requires them to problem solve, explore/analyse, and to complete a written report (extended writing), as outlined by the key National Curriculum Objectives at Key Stage 2 level. The pupils maintained their curiosity of working like a ‘real-life scientist’ throughout the different activities on offer, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We are already looking forward to future visits during the spring and summer term next Year!
