Transition Information

Welcome Year 7! It is with great pleasure I am welcoming you to Rosedale College; your home away from home, for the next 5 to 7 years. You will join us as children, but leave us as successful young adults; this journey to adulthood we will undertake together. The College prides itself on its inclusive ethos thus we will endeavour to ensure that you will feel comfortable within days of starting your Secondary school journey with us.

Rosedale college students attain exceptional results in all GCSE subjects with us exceeding or matching national averages. Our Progress 8 and Attainment 8 score puts us in the top 5% of the country for progress. Choosing us has already put you in an excellent positon to succeed; may your successes continue each day you are with us. Similarly, our sporting achievements are second to none, we are Borough Champions in Cricket; our sporting accolades can be found in Football, Basketball, Netball and Athletics. We are eager to promote a balance between academia and extra-curricular to nurture the talents of all of our students’.
The College is divided into 8 Alliances and each one comprises of one Form class from each year group. This vertical approach in pastoral leadership has proven to be highly beneficial, because it not only builds camaraderie amongst the College as a whole, but also offers students role models they can aspire to. This unique approach has ensured staff and students bask in a cohesive and productive environment. You will be put into your Alliances as soon as you get allocated a Form class.

Unfortunately, this year we have not been able to welcome you as an entire cohort, but you have all received a personal phone call from a member of the senior leadership team. To alleviate any initial concerns, the senior leadership team at Rosedale College is eager to offer you (one child and one adult) the opportunity to tour the site every weekday from Wednesday 8th July to Friday 17th July. We are offering two tours a day; the first tour will commence at 11.00am and last 30 minutes and the second will be from 1.00pm to 1.30pm. These tours will be limited to eight in group so please contact Reception to book your date and time slot as soon as possible.

Please do look through the Transition activities on our website. You can press on the links to learn a little more about the College, take part in some lesson taster activities and there is key information there for your parents, guardians and carers.

My team and I are eagerly awaiting the start of the new college year in September; we are looking forward to welcoming you all in person. Make sure you adhere to the subject specific reading lists, complete the Transition Booklet, but most importantly, make sure you look after yourselves.

College Uniform Orders

During this unprecedented time, we have arranged for uniform to be sold online. This facility will be available from the end of July. You will need to register your details in order to proceed however, an invitation to do so will be sent out over the next 2 weeks. This will allow you to make your selection, pay for your order online and then arrange for a convenient time for collection. We do encourage you to use the sizing and measurement guide that will be available on the website. A hard copy of this guide has already been provided to the parents, guardians and carers of those students who will join us in Year 7 in September.

Due to government recommendations, there will be limited opportunity to try on any garments, so please do use the guide mentioned above. We can assure you that any exchanges will only be considered if all the tags and packaging are intact. We will also wait for 48 hours before returning the garments to the stock pile before someone else is able to purchase it; this is in line with the guidance that most retail outlets are following. We hope you find this new system of transaction helpful.

Cashless Catering System

Please note that the College will soon be operating a cashless catering system. This means that in an attempt to eliminate cash payments, you will now be asked to pay for your child’s school meals using our online payment system. Our online payment facility will allow you to pay for your child’s school meals directly and securely and will provide you with a convenient, safe and verifiable way of making payments. You will receive a letter in due course, outlining the process of this new payment method which will also include a link for registration. Once activation is complete using the registration link provided, this will then enable you to pay for school meals online. If you have any queries or wish to discuss our new cashless payment system, please contact the College at
